It occurred to me that, judging by the size of her belly, this portrait was taken sometime in November or December. Which makes the thriving vegetation somewhat implausible. OR MAGICAL.

Brilliant watercoloring! I wouldn't have the patience for all those bricks! Great composition, too. She's ugly in a beautiful way - and her features look so much like Snape's! Easy to believe she's his mother.

The more I look at this, the more I love it. Fantastic work!

Her eyes are interesting - arresting, somehow. Nice shading on the contours of her body, and I like the understated colours you've used. The plants are a nice touch. That brick wall must have taken forever. And that smog - very ominous.

Even though this isn't even a picture of Snape this is the best painted comment I have seen about his childhood so far. I love the enigmatic expression of his mother and the drab muggle surroundings. It really sums up the man he is to become...
